Getting to Joshua Tree is easy and on major highways and interstates.

From the Los Angeles Area:
Take the 10 freeway east toward Palm Springs. After passing the towns of Ontario, Banning and Beaumont, and the giant Casino Morongo on your left as a landmark. Continue on the I-10 your turn off to Joshua Tree is coming up shortly. Look for the big sign at Highway 62 going towards Yucca Valley and 29 Palms. Take the 62 for about 40 minutes and watch for the town of Joshua Tree. From downtown Joshua Tree continue on the Hwy 62 for nearly another 15 miles as you pass into the town of 29 Palms and come to a traffic light at the junction of Hwy 62 & Adobe Rd. There is a Dennys Restaurant on the South West corner of this intersection. From here, follow your specific instructions to your rental. Depending on traffic, your drive from Downtown should take about 2.5 - 3 hours and is about 135 miles one way.

 

From the Las Vegas area:
Take the 15 South towards Los Angeles. Take the 215 South to the 10 East. After passing the towns of Banning and Beaumont, look for the new and giant Casino Morongo next to the world famous Date Shake palace Hadleys. This is Cabazon, and also the spot to see some life size dinosaurs at The Wheel Inn Restaurant. As you stay on and continue down the 10, your turn off to Joshua Tree is coming up shortly. Look for the big sign at Highway 62 going towards Yucca Valley and 29 Palms. Take the 62 for about 40 minutes and watch for the town of Joshua Tree. Park Blvd. crosses the 62 and is at one of the lights in town. See your detailed directions to get to your particular vacation rental. Your drive should take somewhere around 4.25 hours.

Alternate route from Las Vegas:
Take the 15 South to the 247 towards Lucerne Valley, then continue on to Yucca Valley. Go East on the 62 when you get to Yucca Valley and go about 8 miles to the town of Joshua Tree. Alternate Alternate route from Las Vegas:
Take the 95 South towards Laughlin/Needles. Take the 40 West and turn left onto Mountain Springs Road. Mountain Springs Road becomes National Trails Hwy. Turn left onto Amboy Road. Take Amboy road to Utah Trail. Turn left onto Utah Trail and go until you hit the 62 in the town of 29 Palms. Go right on the 62 about 12 miles to the town of Joshua Tree. From the San Diego area:
Take the 163 towards Escondido, to the 15 North. Follow this to the 215 North toward San Bernardino. Alternate route from San Diego:
For the more adventurous, you can take the 79 toward Hemet and eventually pop out on the 10 near Banning and Beaumont. Continue from that point on the 10 East to the 62 to the Town of Joshua Tree.
